Memorial bricks are available in Coal Miner's Memorial Park. Any coal miner, living or passed, currently working or retired, may have a brick in the park, regardless of where he or she lived and worked. There are currently several miners from several states placed in the park today.
The Coal Miner's Memorial Park is a great way for a family to honor the coal miner in their life and a lasting memory for future generations to come.
Bricks are $100.00, and includes the engraving and the installation of the brick in the park.
Forms are available at the City of West Frankfort City Hall, through the West Frankfort Chamber of Commerce, and here through our website.
For questions, please feel free to contact Memorial Park Director Sharon Ossig at 618-923-0797 or by email at sandraossig49@gmail.com.
This year's Old King Coal Festival Miner's Memorial Service takes place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, beginning at 10:00 AM, in downtown West Frankfort.
